Jesus Wept…why?

What is the shortest verse in the Bible? Yes, that is correct, “Jesus Wept” (John 11:35), but have you ever asked yourself the question, or better still, have you ever asked God why Jesus wept?. All through life we have been taught that Jesus wept because Lazarus had died. Let’s see what the bible actually has to say about it. You will need your Bible to read and follow along as we see the real reason that Jesus wept. Turn to John Chapter 11 and let’s begin!

As the chapter opens in verse one we see that Lazarus was a sick man from Bethany, the town of Mary and Martha, her sister. This was the same Mary that anointed the Lord with ointment, and wiped his feet with her hair. The same Mary that made her way through the room that day with one thought in mind… regardless of what the disciples thought, or any one else in that room that day she was determined to anoint the head of the Lord with the ointment. And she did. This was a determined and diligent act on her part, but she knew what had to be done. As the verses continue, we see that “Mary and Martha sent unto Jesus saying, Lord, behold he whom thou lovest is sick.” When Jesus heard that, he said, “This sickness is not unto death, but for the glory of God, that the Son of God might be glorified thereby.”

Jesus loved Martha, Mary and Lazarus. But I want you to look carefully at the next verse… what did Jesus do.. did he immediately upon hearing of Lazarus’ sickness, drop everything, and go immediately to his side? Did he stop what He was doing and get together a group to start praying? Did he call all the elders or disciples together and share with them the news and ask them to join him in prayer? No… “he abode two days still in the same place where he was”. Yes, I know, most of you are thinking the same thing… this doesn’t sound like love to me! But it was, but it was not the love for Lazarus, it was the love that Jesus had for the Word of God spoken to him about Lazarus. Verse 4 tells us that. Jesus knew that Lazarus was not going to die. He said so right from His own mouth…He knew that God was going to use this situation to bring glory to himself. Jesus knew this… and stated it with confidence to those sent of Mary and Martha, people who were professing to love him and know him. Who had just earlier, anointed him with ointment when others objected. Now let’s move on…

Verse 7 tells us, “then after that (after staying two more days after hearing the news) saith he to his disciples, Let us go into Judaea again.” Yes, you are reading it right… our Lord who loved Lazarus, after hearing the news of his sickness, not only stayed two days in the same place he was, but was going on into Judaea, where the Jews had planned on stoning him, and which was in a different direction than Bethany, where Lazarus was. You can see that even to the disciples it didn’t make any sense and they questioned him about it. Then we see Jesus’ answer and also we see Jesus making a statement, which the disciples took to mean that Lazarus was just resting. However as you read on, in Verse 14, you see Jesus making a direct and in-fact-to statement…”Lazarus is dead”. Jesus was a bit irritated at the disciples at this time, he said he was glad they were not there, for their sakes, so that they may believe. Now think about this. Jesus is talking to the disciples, which were walking, talking, eating, sleeping, drinking, and living right along side of Jesus. They were hearing His words direct, and even had the opportunity to ask him questions about the things that he said so they could understand, and they still didn’t get it. They still did not believe what He said.

As the verses continue, we see the disciples wanting to go and die with Lazarus… not a typical response of people who know and believe the word of Jesus… Right.. but nevertheless, the truth. Then we see Jesus entering the city of Bethany and coming to meet him was Martha and some of the Jews (God’s people again) which were mourning the death of Lazarus. (Yes, he was in the tomb 4 days at this point). Martha begins by blaming Jesus… she said, “Lord if you had been here, my brother had not died.” Then she said she knew that whatever Jesus asked of God, God would give him wanting Jesus to ask God to raise Lazarus from the dead. But what was Jesus’ reply? Did he agree with her about God answering his request? Did he make excuses to her for not coming directly and immediately? Did he try to comfort her and the other Jews with her that were mourning Lazarus death…. NO! He told her again, directly to her face this time, “thy brother shall rise again”.

At this point, Martha says she knows that Lazarus will rise again in the resurrection at the last day.. (which is another message all together but we won’t deal with that at this point)…but what did Jesus tell her when she said this? Verse 25, reads “Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live: and whosoever liveth and believeth in me shall never die. Believest thou this?”…Jesus again told her WHO HE WAS, and that Lazarus would live, and then asked her if she believed him. Of course, like lots of us, Martha said I believe thou art the Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. And when she said so, she went her way, and called Mary her sister secretly, saying the Master is come, and calleth for thee”.

See what is happening here so you can understand fully what this is all about… What happened? Jesus again told Martha, and gave HIS WORD, and Martha said she believed, however she didn’t say that she believed that Lazarus would live… she said she believed that Jesus was Christ, the Son of God, which should come into the world. She never said she believed Lazarus would live like Jesus told her. Then look what she did… she knew that Jesus was questioning her faith, and when the point was that she should have been examining herself, what did she do…she went to get someone else, (Mary) but look how she did it. The Bible says that she “went secretly”, and also told a lie. Jesus didn’t tell Martha to go get Mary and have her come to him, Martha told Mary a lie to get Mary to come to Jesus. Why? The word isn’t definite on this point. One answer comes to mind… remember earlier when Mary was at the feet of Jesus, and Martha was running around busy with preparing food for the group there visiting with Jesus, Martha asked Jesus to make Mary help, and He didn’t. In fact, he got on Martha about being more involved with the “things” than the “word”! (My paraphrase) So Martha probably had it in her mind that Jesus loved Mary more than her and would tell her something different. But what happened?

When Mary heard what Martha said, verse 29 says she arose quickly and came unto him. Jesus had not gotten into town yet, he was still on the way to Bethany, and in fact the word says that he hadn’t moved from the place where Martha met him by the time Mary got to him. (Jesus didn’t seem to be in any hurry here either… think about it!) Then when Mary rose up, the Jews that were with her in the house rose with her and “hastily” went out, followed her, saying she’s going to the grave to weep there. (Blind leading the blind and both falling in the ditch..I know not in this story, but it fits…Right!) Now what happens when Mary gets to Jesus. She falls at his feet and said the same thing that Martha said… she blamed Jesus for Lazarus’ death. (By this point, I hope you are seeing the truth in this message… but if not, let’s go on!). Verse 33 reads, “when Jesus therefore saw her weeping, and the Jews also weeping which came with her, HE GROANED IN THE SPIRIT, AND WAS TROUBLED.” Jesus was upset! What did he say to Mary? Did he compassionately comfort her and reassure her? Did he lift her up from the ground and tell her AGAIN that everything was going to be all right? NO! What did he say?

Verse 34, “Where have ye laid him?” They told Jesus to come see, then Jesus wept. Then when the Jews saw him, they made the statement that everyone else has used to explain why Jesus wept… the Jews said “behold how he loved him!. And then they questioned among themselves if Jesus could opened eyes of the blind, could not he have caused that even this man (Lazarus) should not have died? They are still asking questions at this point. Boy, did they miss it! And so have we!

Verse 38 says, “Jesus therefore again groaning in himself cometh to the grave and gave a commandment. “Take ye away the stone”. No sweet, compassionate words. No words of condolences, not even words of rebuke at this point. Jesus was not weeping the death of Lazarus. If he had been, He would have been openly admitting that he didn’t believe his own words, nor the Words of God! Think about it!

Jesus was not weeping because Lazarus was dead! He was weeping because prophetic word had taught these people who Jesus was and what he would do, then Jesus had sent a messenger to Martha and Mary which told them, and had now told them to their faces that Lazarus would live, and yet they were still weeping and crying and didn’t BELIEVE HIM! Martha was even worried about Lazarus stinking up the place! Great sign of belief on her part..Right!

Now look with me at verse 40, you will see Jesus’ words. “Said I not unto thee, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” Jesus reminded them of what He said again. Then and only did they remove the stone, but the awesome part of this message which clearly let’s us know that what I am sharing with you is correct.

Verses 41 through 46. Jesus lifted up his eyes, and said, “Father, I thank thee that thou HAST HEARD ME. (past tense, he had already gotten God’s word on the matter) and I know that thou hearest me always, (confirming his confidence in God’s word), BUT BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE WHICH STAND BY I SAID IT; THAT THEY MAY BELIEVE THAT THOU HAST SENT ME. And when he thus had spoken he cried with a loud voice, Lazarus come forth, and he that was dead came forth, bound hand and foot with graveclothes: and his face was bound about with a napkin. Jesus saith unto them, Loose him, and let him go. Then many of the Jews (God’s people) which came with Mary, and had seen the things which Jesus did, believed on him, but some of them went their ways to the Pharisees, and told them what Jesus had done.” Again, we see it clearly. Jesus said it.. He knew God heard him always, and that whatever he ask, he received, and he knew that Lazarus was not dead, but that God was going to be glorified in what was to be done. It was to fulfill God’s words through the prophets and to complete the will of God for his people, yet they still did not believe HIM!. He said it best, “BUT BECAUSE OF THE PEOPLE WHICH STAND BY I SAID IT; THAT THEY MAY BELIEVE THAT THOU HAST SENT ME.” Then we see again, that even the Jews which were with Mary, heard the words of Jesus and saw Lazarus come forth, still didn’t believe HIM!

NOW YOU KNOW WHY JESUS WEPT! Here is the question….and please think about it before you speak… don’t be like Martha and just say something that sounds right…. “Said I not unto thee, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?” Is Jesus weeping because YOU DON’T BELIEVE HIM EITHER?

Please think about it. Examine yourself, unlike Martha, who went to get someone else involved. Take a good look, and read the Word of God, if you are not believing the Word of God, and seeing the Glory of God in your life, today is the day for you to change! For Jesus said it from his own mouth, “Said I not unto thee, if thou wouldest believe, thou shouldest see the glory of God?”

The “Parrots” of Christianity

Have you ever really looked at a parrot? A parrot is a bird, that has been domesticated! Parrots are conditioned to live in cages and depend on others for food. They are beautiful birds and are friendly, yet they will bite when things don’t go their way. They are conditioned to be content within the confines of their cages, to eat, drink, roost, play, and a couple of other things that we won’t mention. They live their total lives confined to a cage and dependant on others, who have taken them out of their natural element and domesticated them, to have them as pets, for companionship, as well as entertainment! Think about it carefully!

What else is it that parrots do? They talk! They can be trained to say words and make sounds on command, and sometimes when they shouldn’t. That’s the part we want to focus on with this message! We want to see the reason that most “Christians” today are simply parrots!

When a parrot is taught to “speak”, the owner or trainer says repeatedly over and over what he wants to train the bird to say. The trainer will give the bird a reward if the bird repeats what he hears. The bird learns the more he repeats what is being heard the more reward he gets. The words being said by the parrot have no meaning or value to the parrot. The words are only an opportunity to gain something for the parrot himself! The words do not change the parrot, nor do they release him from the confines of his cage to be free! He remains dependent on others, the protection of the cage, and becomes only “entertainment” for those that pass by him!

Think about what has just been said about the parrot. It’s easy to see that so many “Christians” today are only parrots! They have been subjected to the confines of a church to be taught and to hear over and over what someone else wants them to say. The words have no meaning or value to them, it’s only a means of them getting some reward in the “here after” and they will say them and repeat them over and over whether on command or not as an opportunity for the “reward”! They have no understanding or meaning for the words that they repeat… and will repeat them to anyone that crosses their paths, whether the person wants to hear them or not. Just like a parrot!

The parrot sees a person passing by his cage as a chance for another “reward” and so he repeats what he has heard over and over, and continues to until he gets his reward! “Christians” do the same thing!

They are not concerned that the person passing them might not want to hear what they have to say. They don’t consider that the person does not want to hear anything where there is no understanding or explanation, other than to say it was “what has been taught, and what they have heard”! It’s only a means for “reward” to the parrots of Christianity. They see every person crossing their path as a chance for a “reward” and parrot rehearsed words without ever a thought to the person passing by or the lack of understanding of the words that they “parrot”.

Yet when the person they “chirp” their repetitive words to, asks a question or wants more of an understanding or explanation from them, all that is offered is “that’s what my “pastor, preacher, teacher” or “the bible” says. It is all repetitive words that have no meaning or understanding. They are repetitive words said for “reward”! This is so evident to people hearing what “Christians” are saying today, that it has become “entertainment”!

People are “entertained” when a “Christian” says something they cannot explain, don’t understand themselves, yet is so determined to get said. It’s “entertaining” to see an adult with a mind of their own, with the ability to learn and know something, be able to offer nothing more in the way of an explanation than, “that is what so in so said” or “that’s what so in so taught”or “that’s what the bible says”!

The church continues dictating that people are to “evangelize”! They are to go out into all nations and repeat the words that are said in the bible, or that the pastor, preacher or evangelist, has taught them. The church tells of the rewards that are given by God for “converts” and so they parrot on! They “parrot” repetitive words, and are confronted by people looking for something real and that are not interested in hearing “rehearsed” words coming from someone who has no personal experience with the subject. People do not simply want to hear “that’s what we were taught” or what “Pastor” or “Evangelist” “taught”, or even “that’s what the bible says”! People want to hear what God has spoken to you, and shared with you! What you are confident about, that you “know” and can given an explanation for that is logical and rational! It’s time to see this, and stop being a parrot!

It is time for the cages of confinement caused by the doctrines of men, to be opened and the parrots to be set free! It’s time for people to be more than a parrot! More than a person that just repeats what someone else has told them and expect a reward from it! It is the book of Isaiah that states the Messiah would set the captives free “without price or reward”.

It is time for “Christians”, to put an end to the “parrot” mentality and hear from GOD directly and personally. If you’re not hearing from God directly, then no one else wants to hear what someone else has told you! Repeating what someone else has told you is “gossip”! To be a witness, you must have heard it yourself… or seen it for yourself! Think!! Jesus Christ, Himself taught that His followers were not to use vain repetitions. They were not to use rehearsed words. He called people hypocrites which did such things, and thought in doing so that God would hear them for their “much speaking”! It is the commandment of Jesus Christ to stop doing such things! Jesus also said, “if you love me, keep my commandments”.

Do you know what makes a parrot bite? It is simple… when they “speak” and you don’t reward then or ignore them so they can not “earn” their “reward”. The same is true with “Christians”… if you don’t want to listen to them, or simply don’t accept what they say and ignore it… they will bite also! Then they say YOU are the problem, and are keeping them from their reward. They can become quiet vicious! Yet when you listen to them, and see that they don’t have any understanding of what they are saying, and that it’s only for a “reward” that someone has told them they will get, you have to wonder why would you want to hear it anyway! When you have read the bible and seen clearly where Jesus the one they are wanting so often to tell you about, clearly stated that His followers would not do such things, and yet the ones standing before you are doing just that.. why would anyone want to hear about someone or believe in someone that His own followers do not believe in enough to follow themselves? It’s a total mockery of all that Jesus Christ taught, and commanded that His followers were to do!

It is time to HEAR GOD! It’s time to stop the “parroting” of repetitive words, and to encourage people to HEAR GOD! If you’ve not heard directly from the lips of God, then there is nothing to “speak” in the first place! We are here to do the will of God, and you must HEAR HIM first to be able to do HIS WILL. If you’re only doing what someone else has told you, and taught you, and you’re doing it for some reward…. Just go back to your “cage” and keep your “beak” shut!

People today want to hear GOD and know GOD! Not a parrot! So look at yourself! Does your feet have the “perch” look? Are you confined in a “cage”? Are you saying words to those that pass you by that you don’t understand? Are you dependent on what someone else has taught you to say and do? Then you’re a “parrot”! People aren’t looking for the entertainment of parrots, they want to hear the echo that only the voice of God brings! They know the difference! Hear God, be as Christ gave us the example of himself. He said, “I say only what my Father gives me to say”..”do not use vain repetitions” … isn’t that the “Christian” way!! If Jesus truly is the way, then isn’t it the mandate of Jesus Himself that His followers must keep His commandments…. or they simply are the ones that do not love him?

Whosoever heareth these sayings of mine…

Matthew 7: 24-25 “Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine,(Jesus speaking) and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.”

Matthew 16: 15-19 “He saith unto them, But who say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou are the Christ, the Son of the Living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church: and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

Wake up “Body of Christ”! What is wrong with the “Body of Christ” today? Christians have followed after the teachings of men and failed to follow the Gospel of Jesus Christ!

There is only one perfect, sinless, only Begotten Son of God… Right.. He came to earth in flesh and dwelt among us… He came as our perfect example and to teach us the Gospel! The Way to enter the Kingdom of God! So what has happened? Let’s take a deeper look.

We find in Matthew 7: 28-29, “and it came to pass, when Jesus had ended these sayings, the people were astonished at his doctrine: for he taught them as one having authority, and not as the scribes”. The people in those days recognized the doctrine of Jesus Christ, which is the Gospel that we are to live by, and teach today. The word of God also says “accursed are those that teach anything other than this gospel”. So why are there so many teachings that are not the Gospel of Jesus Christ? Why are so many following after the teachings of countless others, instead of Jesus Christ? Why do Christian churches not teach the words of Jesus Christ?

In Matthew 7:24-25, we see Jesus speaking from his very own mouth the words that say, “whosoever heareth these sayings of mine and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man”… but why are Christians not doing that? Why do you pass up Matthew, Mark, Luke and John where the words of Jesus are given, and disregard the sayings of Jesus? Jesus said he will liken us unto wise men if we heareth these sayings of HIS and doeth them! The wise man Jesus is speaking of, built his house upon a rock… and every element of the earth’s atmosphere came against it, and it FELL NOT! For it was founded upon a rock. That is exactly why things in your lives are falling apart! You have built your house on a rock other than the rock of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. That is the word of God! When you heareth and doeth NOT the sayings of Jesus, He tells us in Matthew 7: 27, that when the things came against the house not built on the rock, IT FELL, AND GREAT WAS THE FALL OF IT.

Jesus goes on to teach us in Matthew 16:15-19, that the Knowledge of who He is, is given by the Father in heaven not taught of men (flesh and blood). This is the foundation for the Body of Christ (HIS CHURCH), the Rock that Jesus builds on.. the Rock that the wise man builds his house on! He is not building on “traditions of men” or “teachings of flesh and blood“! Those are NOT the teachings where “the gates of hell shall not prevail against”.. those are not the teachings that have the power to “bind on earth and heaven” or to “loose on earth and heaven” and neither will they be the teachings or sayings that JESUS CHRIST will build upon! He will only build upon the knowledge given by HIS FATHER IN HEAVEN!

We need to get a hold of this! We need to WAKE UP and “those that have ears let them hear what the Spirit of the Lord saith unto the Church“! Wake up and stop following after the teachings of MEN.. and follow after the SAYINGS OF MINE, saith Jesus Christ!

It is time to understand that unless we do as Jesus taught us, that we will not be liken the wise men, nor will we ever have the keys of the kingdom of heaven. Why would God send us a perfect example and then not expect us to follow it… think about it! Why did He send Jesus the perfect man in the flesh to be the first partaker, to teach us and show us, and then tell us to follow after the teachings of “flesh and bone”.. He didn’t!

God tells us in Malachi 3:6.. I am the Lord thy God… I change NOT! We better understand that! Go back and read for yourselves what happened to countless others professing to be “saved”, “born again”, “believers” or other names, which we are calling ourselves, but did not follow the teachings or the words of God! It was not a pretty picture! And the worst thing about it all… is most of them didn’t have the PERFECT EXAMPLE! WE DO, so what excuse is there!

The word of God in Acts 17:30, “and the times of this ignorance God winked at: but now commandeth all men every where to repent”! The message has not changed… God has not changed…it is still the same message… “Repent, Repent, for the Kingdom of God is at Hand!”

It is the teachings and sayings of Jesus Christ, the ONLY BEGOTTEN of God that is of importance to you! If you didn’t hear it directly from the Father in Heaven, (just as Peter did), then your foundation is shaky and needs some repair!

James 1:5 tells us, if ye lack wisdom ASK GOD, who gives to ALL men liberally! God will not withhold His wisdom, but the only source for it is directly from God. God didn’t say, if you lack wisdom and want to learn about me.. .ask other men!! Did He??

“Seek First GOD, and HIS righteousness, and all these things shall be added unto you!

Where are the “Christians”?

That question has been radiating in my mind now for weeks. God told me that there is a lost element in Christianity and it’s the Christian. What does that mean? Simple. Like so many other things in our culture and society, the definition of the word has been changed to such a degree that the very basis for what Christianity once meant no longer exists. Why you might ask? Simple. When there are no Christians, there can be no Christianity.

Christian at one time was the name that people called those that followed Christ. The name that wasn’t a name of honor but a name of mockery. The name mockingly called the group of people that would continue to follow the teachings of someone who had just been publicly crucified as a criminal. The name people were called, not the name they called themselves. The name called not based on what they said, but on what they did.

Yet, today, Christianity has taken on a new definition. No longer does it refer to a people that follow the teachings of Christ. Today it defines a group of people that follow what everyone other than Christ taught, and who have taken the name unto themselves making a living mockery out of all that Christ ever stood for. No longer does Christian define a person that lives what they believe… it now defines a person or group of people that claim to believe, yet live contrary to what they claim to believe. They take the name of Christian, referring to themselves by that name, and yet do not live the life that Christ described, nor any of the other teachings that He is supposed to have taught. The lives they live are in direct contrast to the teachings of Christ, and yet they wonder why it is that others want nothing to do with their “christianity”. How is it possible for a person to take the name of Christ, to call themselves Christian, to insist that people must believe that Christ is the son of God, the redeemer of the world, when the very people calling themselves by HIS NAME…and by a religion that is supposed to be based on His life and teaching are the furtherest thing from the lives these people live.

It is very clear… most people that call themselves Christians simply are not. They do not believe that Christ was the Son of God. They do not believe the bible is the word of God. Nor do they believe that Christ is the ensample that Christians are to follow. They have went about to adopt a way of life that differs greatly from the life of Christ, and have justified their actions and their mockery of God and His Son by saying that to be a Christian is simply to believe in Christ. That dear friend never was the reason that people in Antioch referred to the disciples as Christians, nor is it the reason today that anyone should call themselves Christian.

I am often asked if I am a Christian, and I respond, why do you ask? Then I get responses like, “if your not ashamed of God you’d answer that you are”… or “you need to be one”… or many other “classically rehersed words” that have no more meaning to the person asking the question, than does the understanding of what Christian means. Jesus said “they will know you by your fruits”, and yet so many today aren’t seeing the fruits of a Christlike life, therefore they are having to ask. Most don’t have a clear understanding of what Christian means, nor have they seen the life of Christ lived by the people claiming to be Christians, so they can’t easily recognize and have to ask. Some just ask because it’s simply what they must do to see if you’re one of their “group” or if you’re one of those they need to “convert” to their group!

If a life is not able to reflect the totality of what a person believes then taking a name to identify yourself by when you’re life isn’t speaking clearly what you believe is to be a mockery of all that is Christian. That is the core reason that so many today hate Christians. It is not because of what Christ taught. It is not because of who Christ was. It is not because of who Christ is said to have been. Most people’s hatred for Christians comes from the hypocrisy they live. They are hated because they claim to love and serve a Christ that loved everyone when they don’t. They are hated because they try to change people and convert them telling them they are worthless and undeserving when Christ nor God ever said that. They are hated because they are judgemental and full of hatred toward God’s creation, yet take the name of His Son and call themselves Christian. Look around you. You don’t have to look very far to see the hatred that’s bred by Christianity, not the religion, but the people of the religion. Why, not because of the religion itself… but because of the people that have affixed themselves to the religion, yet have turned away from and adopted a doctrine that is very far from the foundational attributes of the religion, and then have redefined the religion based on their own doctrines.

I have had the honor to travel across this wonderful country. I have yet to find one person that hates me or that has any problem with what beliefs I have, other than those claiming to be Christians. The hatred that I’ve encountered is within the churches of America, and amoung those that call themselves by the name of our God. They get highly offended when I will not follow what they teach and mandate, but insisting on hearing God and following only Him. Wonder why it is that so many that say they know God..and His will would be upset with a person who will not listen to them, but instead insists on listening to only God and encourage others to do the same?

All it takes is for one Christian to read what their Christ taught, in the book they all claim is the word of the God that sent Him, to see whether or not they really are Christian or not! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that if there really were CHRISTIANS here in America today… people that were following the teachings of Christ….there would be very little hatred against them at all. How can you hate a person who puts you and your needs first? How can you hate a person that would sell the very land, houses, and possessions they own to see that you had food to eat, and a place to sleep? How could you hate a person that would not condemn you no matter what your life had been, but would sit with you and encourage you to hear God and not what a hateful society claiming to be Christian has to say about you? How could you hate a person that would refuse to be a part of building a building in your community where you’re not welcome, where you must have clothes to wear to, and who will drive right past you sitting on the street cold and hungry to go into? How can you hate a person who would stop long enough in their daily routine to say hello to you when you’re just passing by? How can you hate a person who will not exalt themselves over you simply because you don’t believe what they believe? How can you hate a person who will show you love no matter what you claim to believe, where you live, or what your social status is? How can you hate a person who values you as much a part of their God’s creation as they value themselves? How can you hate a person who would stand by you when everyone else doesn’t? I tell you… you can’t. Nor can a living soul hate Christ or the person that lives life accordingly! People in the world today do not hate Christ, nor the teachings of Christ, they hate the hypocrisy in the lives of those that have taken the name of Christ, and do not live the life He outlined. The hatred only comes toward those that don’t…. and won’t… and yet have taken the name as a mockery!! Christians aren’t hated in the world today because of their beliefs… they are hated because of the lives they live that is a direct contradiction to the teachings of Christ. There is not a person alive on this planet that can hate a person or want to cause them harm that follow what Christ lived, other than those that claim to be Christian, and yet reject the teachings of Christ.

I challenge each of you that reads this message to take a moment to look at your life. If you’re having to tell people that you’re a Christian, then you’re not. If you’re having to go to church and be taught of other men, then you’re not following the teachings of Christ. If you’re life isn’t what is defined by Christ as the way that you should live, then don’t take the name and be a mockery to all that Christ stands for! Ask God, Hear what God has to say, and stop listening to what people tell you about yourself, and about those that you are here on this wonderful planet with. We are all part of the creation of the Almighty God. No more valuable to anyone including God than the person standing, sitting, or laying next to you. No more valuable to anyone including God than the drunk or the prostitute on the side of the road you drive by on your way to your churches. No more valuable than the least of those that are here with us. It is time for us to see that and understand that being anything less than what Christ taught is being a mockery of all that He stood for… and what it is testifying to the world is that YOU’RE the one that doesn’t believe He’s the son of God… that God sent Him… nor that God is the Almighty!

The Bible..Is it all God has said?

We hear that the bible is the infallible word of the Living God. That it contains the word of God and the answers to all the questions that you’ll have in life, but the thing that we’re going to address here is to help you see how this could not be possible.. and why. We direct you to ask God. Ask Him if what you read here is His Word, and what HE would like to share about it.. and HEAR HIM!

First, if we are going to believe in God, as the Almighty, Supreme Being, that has no beginning and no ending, we have to also believe that He’s had the ability to speak since He was! That there wasn’t a time that God, the Almighty, Supreme Being was “silenced” or would He be God?

Then you have to look at the bible. The words of the bible begin with the penning of Moses, in the first five books of the bible… but I ask you, if God was GOD before that time, and was able to talk, why was it that He didn’t have anyone write down what He said to them before Moses? Why are there not words that Adam penned, or Abraham, or others? Why would God have to wait until Moses was born, called, and delivered the children out of Israel before telling him to pen the words and actions of God since the “beginning”? One has to think about it and ask God!

Then we have to consider that if God never had a beginning, and has no ending, and is not limited in any form or fashion by man, then how is it that He has stopped speaking once the bible as we know it today was published? Why was it that some of the writings of men that were preserved from those times were not included in the bible? How is it that we know that there are book of the bible written by men and women mentioned in the bible that were excluded from the canonized book? Why if they were also the words of God, inspired by God, were they excluded?

Now if God is eternal, and we believe that He is, then why isn’t the bible representative of an eternal God. As the bible records, that not all of the works or words of Jesus are recorded, nor could they be. So if in the short span of time that Jesus was on the earth, the books could not contain all that He did and said, surely it is incomprehensible to believe that all the Eternal Almighty God has said and done would be? All one has to do is to simply take a step back from the teachings and traditions of men to see that the bible is not the total words of an Almighty, Supreme and Eternal God. They readily record that they do not contain all the works or the words of His only begotten Son, and for those that claim to know Him and believe He’s an Eternal God, to accept without any question or counsel from God directly, is to deny the very attributes of the God they claim He is!

It only takes a brief look at the bible to see that it was the words of God, through inspired men of God to a rebellious nation that refused to hear God directly. They refused to HEAR HIM, much as so many do today, and yes, He instructed men to record that and He has preserved those words unto this day for us to see that. To see that the words were to a rebellious nation.. to a people who rejected the voice of God only to hear the voice of others, and therefore bring destruction on them and those that would follow after then, in those same traditions.

It only takes a brief look at the history of the English bible to see that even though yes, the word of God, to some of the people throughout history have been included, that it was by the motivation and agenda of men that it was compiled and published in the form that it was in 1611, and subsequently been changed, and re-translated many times since then. It’s clear to see the finger prints of men all over it….

Yet, in all of this, there is still the provision of God to those that know Him. It was stated by HIM to many before us and will resound through the hearts of men for all of eternity, and it is simply this… HEAR HIM! Not Read about Him, but Hear Him!!

Ask Him! Don’t let a graven image become an idol and replace the Almighty, Supreme Being, the All Knowing, All Powerful! Don’t limit God to a bible of 66 books which clearly states within itself that it’s a “limited edition”! That it does not and cannot, nor will it ever be a written record of all the words of God, or the works of the Son of God, or the sons to follow! Hear Him.. and know HIM!!

So in closing, I’ll address a question that was put to me a while back, someone asked me, “if you don’t believe that the bible is the word of God, then why do you quote it?” First of all, I don’t quote the bible, do I refer to the verses that are in it yes. Why? It’s simple… God said that most of you that claim to know Him have allowed the bible to be your God, and that the only way you’ll even consider hearing what it is that your ‘god’ is saying is to see it within the graven image that you have made your ‘god’. So that’s the reason that there is references to what is contained in the bible… so that you can hear what your “god” is saying… especially since you’re rejecting HEARING GOD directly as so many other of the rebellious children have done in the records of the bible!! HEAR HIM.. and KNOW HIS VOICE… A book about Him never will be Him, even though yes, it does contain the words that He’s spoke to others. But it doesn’t contain the words that He is speaking to you today, and never will!! So HEAR HIM!!

Believe God!

Believe God!

Mark 16:17-18, says, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; in my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; they shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover”… but is that happening?

The key to “these signs” is so obvious… “them that believe”! That’s the very first element for these signs to follow.. We must believe! Not believe in God, but BELIEVE GOD! If you’re going to claim that the bible is the word of God, and that it applies to everyone today, then should it not be happening as the bible says?

For the most part, Christians today believe IN GOD but they don’t BELIEVE GOD. There is a definite difference. What is the difference?

To believe IN GOD means that you believe there is a God and that God exists, but to BELIEVE GOD you must trust GOD and obey GOD and KNOW GOD! (Have a personal and intimate relationship with Him!). How can you believe anyone that you don’t know? How can you take the word of someone, or something even an Almighty God, and yet not know HIM? How can you believe that He will do all that He said He would do, that you are all He said you are and therefore entitled to all He said you could have through Christ Jesus, if you don’t KNOW HIM?

Have you ever looked up the definition of the word “believe”… take a look at what the word means. Webster’s New World Collegiate Dictionary gives the following definition. 1) to take as true, real, etc. 2) to have confidence in a statement or promise of another person. 3) to have trust or confidence in as being true, real, good. etc. It is clear with even what Webster defines “believe” as that many simply don’t!

Do you take the word of God as true, real? Do you have confidence in the statements of God and promises of God? Do you have trust or confidence in God as being true, real, good, etc? Think about this for a minute… Mark 16: 17-18 says these signs follow them that believe. Are these signs following you?

Mark doesn’t say that they might follow you, it says these signs follow that believe! If the word of God is really the word of God, and it’s true and trustworthy, then these are the signs that will follow you if you truly believe. Not believe IN GOD but BELIEVE GOD. So do you BELIEVE GOD or believe IN GOD?

The question then is, who is it that Jesus spoke these words to, who is it that He gave the power over unclean spirits to in the first place? Was it EVERYONE? Absolutely not. It was the disciples, those men that had left all they had to come follow Him, to follow what He taught them, and who were told to believe based on knowing God… not the teachings of flesh and blood! Did these signs follow them?

Now is the time for all of us to take a deeper look into our relationship with God. Do we believe God?

Are the signs of a believer following you? If not, Hear God… refer to your bible, which you claim is the word of God… which reads… James 1: 5-8 ” If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him. But let him ask in faith, nothing wavering. For he that wavereth is like a wave of the sea driven with the wind and tossed. For let not that man think that he shall receive any thing of the Lord. A double minded man is unstable in ALL his ways.”

If you waver, there is no trust. If you don’t have trust, then you don’t believe, and if you don’t believe, you cannot be saved. It is that simple! How can you take the word of the Almighty God, that you are “saved” and yet not take the word of God on so many other aspects of the bible that you say is also God’s word? It’s clear… most people believe in God, but do not believe God!

Look around you, one man, Jesus Christ, the firstborn among man brethren, came, called unto Himself a small group of men who became disciplined to be taught of God, not of flesh and blood, and what was the result? Demons gone, sickness gone, none suffering lack, having all things common….and much, much more.. so ask yourself these questions.. “With so many ready to claim that they believe in God, and know God, the bible saying these are the signs that shall follow those that believe, why is there still sickness and diseases, and why are people not recovering?” Why is it that the church and the Christians of the church still dealing with the demons, and the head demon, Satan?” The answer is simple… NO ONE is BELIEVING GOD! They worship with their lips but their heart is far from Him!!

ASK GOD.. HEAR HIM! Did God lie, or are these the signs that follow those that believe? Are those that claim to believe really believers??

Is God Real?

Is God Real?

This question has been the basis for so much debate and hatred in our society that one would have to wonder about it. This is not to side with either in the debate of whether God is real or not, nor is it to take any position on the matter other than to call people as individuals to think about it.. and to see how ridiculous a debate about it really is.

Let’s take a look for a moment at some simple facts and see where it leads us. If a person believes that there is a God and He is real… what proof can he give to another person that would be so convincing that upon hearing it, the person would believe it and accept it as “truth”? If a person does not believe there is a God.. or that God is real, what proof can that person give to another that upon hearing it they would immediately without hesitation cause them to believe God is not real? The answer is simple.. there is none!

The question is asked many times to challenging anothers “belief” (which is simply that, a “belief”) or as a means of making it appear that someone has some how “cornered the market” on some “proof” that no one else has. Yet when you ask a person with such a “belief” to supply you with that “proof”, you soon realize that it’s not “proof” that they offer you, it is merely their “belief” based on their own experience or understanding. In either case, the “proof” really isn’t “proof” (unquestionable evidence) but merely one’s “belief” based on their own experience or understanding.

The fact remains that there is no proof to either side of the debate, that could be offered in either case! There is nothing that any human can offer another, that upon hearing it, would cause a person to immediately, without hesitation or question, willing to accept it as “proof”!

The question then is.. Why bother to try? Seeing that for generations now there hasn’t been any way for any human being to supply “proof” on either side of the debate, it would seem that after all this time someone would realize that it’s impossible to do and would stop trying. Yet wonder why the debate continues on?

Those that believe God is real want everyone to believe as they do! That He’s a Supreme Being, in control of all things and has created all things. Yet those that make that claim, seem to refute the idea that an Almighty God would be able give “proof” of Himself to what He created and is in full control of. That God, in either case it is only God that can give “proof” that upon receiving it… they would immediately without question or hesitation believe.

Then we have those that don’t believe God is real and want others to see their side and offer their “proof”, yet in both there is still no “proof”. Both sides of the debate continue on in their futile attempts to sway others to their way of thinking, without giving any thought to the fact that there really isn’t any “proof” for either side and to debate the issue is to only show how “unthinking” all really are. When that’s the one thing that is so lacking in our society today. Thinking!

If more people would simply “think” about it, look at all of history and their own experiences they would see that in their own minds they wouldn’t accept what someone else told them, so why would they expect someone they told to believe them? Think about it! We all know that we don’t simply believe because someone tells us… so why would we expect anyone else to??

For those that believe in God, trust Him. The bible says that “all will know Him from the least to the greatest” so that takes care of everyone.. and for those that don’t believe in God… trust that there is no God, and that whatever it is that has been the catalyst for the entire creation, that it will come to be known to all as well! After all, neither side is going to believe with the simple proof that people can offer, or they already would have after all this time of debating!! Come on, people.. think… !!!

The fact that there is no proof either way, then makes you wonder why anyone would try to manufacture or make something seem to be “proof” in the first place. For in doing so really is ridiculous! So then if there is no “proof” to be offered on either side of the debate, then why not leave it to either God to make it known to the person… or to “nature” or some other force that it’s not? Isn’t that the best position in all of this to begin with?

Leave each person to his own … knowing that if God is real, He’s fully capable of making Himself known to them.. and if He isn’t real, to likewise make that known…. but in either case… the proof remains beyond the capacity of human beings and it’s time for those on both sides, and those that have chosen not to take sides to realize this!

In closing, ask yourself this question.. (regardless of the side of the debate you are on).. “what proof can any human being supply to you that would be enough for you to accept without question or hesitation the opposite of the position you have right now?” You’ll see for yourself there is none.. and if you should by some slim chance decide to take the mere word of another for any “proof” then you have to realize that the “proof” you have accepted is just the mere words of another and really doesn’t constitute “proof” only your willingness to believe what someone without proof has told you and that your “thinking” has become obsolete!!

Think about it…

Is it possible to be Lost?

Is it possible to be Lost?

We’ve heard for years that we are all lost and undone without Christ, but is that possible. If we are able to be “lost” then we have to look at the attributes of the God that we claim to be able to be lost from. If God is the All Knowing, creator of all things then how is it possible for anyone to ever be lost from an All knowing Creator of all things?

Is it possible that God can create all things, know all things, and yet allow what He created and knows all about to be “lost”? No, it is not possible. It is only the teachings of men and the doctrinal dogma that has convinced us that we,or our loved ones, or for that matter anyone can be “lost” from God. It is time for everyone whether you believe God is real or not to take a serious look at what has been and is being taught today about God. It is when we stop listening to all the mandates and explanations from men and their traditional teachings and look at what God should be and what power a being called God must have to be God that we quickly see the difference in what we’ve been taught and what must be logical if there is a God. If there is a God, an Almighty Being that can create the entire universe, that can mandate the continuation of it all now for millions of years, then surely one can not reduce this God to a being that is able to “lose” what He has created and some how allow that creation to become separated from Him. If separation from God is possible, then God isn’t all-knowing and all-powerful. If there is anything that any of us can do that will cause God to separate Himself from us, then we have power beyond the capacity of God, therefore He’s not all-powerful. If what you or I believe or don’t believe can alter the very will and power of God, then He’s not God. We can’t have a God that is totally in control of all things, that has created all things, and yet have this same God be rendered powerless by the simple belief of one of those that He created. It’s a slap in the face of an Almighty God to believe such things, much less to go about to try to convince someone else that this Almighty Being that can create all things, loves the world, is so powerless that He is subject to the simple beliefs of those that He created, and that if we don’t believe, or serve Him, or know Him, that it would change who He is… or what He has done.. and continues to do. The simple truth in all of it is that we’ve put aside the very attributes of the Almighty Being, and followed what others have taught us about Him, and therefore in following another god, have reduced the Almighty to being a powerless, unknowing being that is subject to the dictates of what He created, instead of the Almighty Divine Sovereign being that He is.

So you decide for yourself. Think about what you know about God. What have you come to understand that makes a being God? What are the attributes of God? How did you come to know these things about God? List them if you need to, then step back and take a look at what you believe about God, and then ask yourself with what you know about the Almighty, is it possible for anyone or anything to be lost? The mere thoughts of the possibilities of that would signify that God isn’t really the Almighty Being that so many of us say that He is…nor is He all-powerful, all knowing, nor the creator of all things, who controls all things, and always has.

I am sure at this point in this article that there are some of you are thinking that what I am saying here is a contradiction to what God has said, but I ask you only to consider this. Is it?? Is what you’ve come to believe about people being “lost” come from the mouth of God to you, or it is simply been the words and teachings of others that you’ve listened to? If we are all honest with ourselves, we soon realize that most of what we believe and stand on… isn’t what we’ve heard from the mouth of God, it’s been what we have been taught by men and women, read in the bible, and the traditions of doctrines passed down through generations… “traditions”… instead of what God has said, or simply the application of the attributes of an Almighty Being against the teachings and beliefs of men. It is not difficult to realize when you apply the attributes that would make a being the Almighty to quickly see that what we’ve been hearing and taught for years, surely isn’t in line with the attributes of the Almighty, or any other being that would be for a moment considered powerful enough to have created all things, controls all things, and knows all things. Anything short of those attributes surely wouldn’t be a “god” in any form or fashion.

Realize today, that the Almighty God hasn’t lost anyone… nor would He ever. Those that are in your family and circle of friends that appear to you to be the furthest from God are really not! There is no way possible for them, or you to ever be lost from an All Knowing, Almighty God who is in control of all things, and there never was a way for that to be possible. It is not them that claims to know an Almighty Creator of all things, that is powerless and subject to the beliefs of that which He create. So the unbelief is not with those that appear to you to be “lost”… the unbelief dear friend is with you. It is you that has accepted the teachings of men that would have us to believe that the Almighty Creator of all things can lose, or allow something to be lost from Him and His control even for a second…. and by our own acceptance of the teachings of men over the very attributes of what we claim to know about GOD has reduced the Almighty to nothing. It is time for those that are going to believe in God, to believe in Him as GOD… not as some powerless being who has no control over anything or anyone, who is subject to the beliefs of that which He is supposed to have created, and just sits off somewhere in the heavens waiting on us to decide what He can or cannot do. Is that any GOD? No… and if God is God, then there is no way possible for anyone or anything to be lost from Him!! Nor will there ever be… Nothing can separate anyone from the Almighty God, creator of all things…. or He simply isn’t God!!

ASK GOD! Hear what He has to say on the subject!!

Universal Salvation?

This is the topic of major debate today among many. There are some that would say that there is no “universal” salvation that only those that do something or say some words, or other means of “works” are the only ones that will receive salvation, or have. Yet when we look at the words of Jesus, we see that He makes clear that “all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord”. (Luke 3:6). I am not here to use the bible to try to justify either side of the debate, but only to point out some clear contradictions that would cause any “thinking” person to consider them and to ask God!

First we have to consider that if the Messiah was the prophesied means by which all men would be “saved”… meaning the receiver of salvation… then one only has to look to the definition of the word Messiah, as well as the prophesies of the bible to see what was said about the Messiah. The Old Testament pictures the Messiah as one who will put an end to sin and war and usher in “universal” righteousness and through His death will make vicarious atonement for the salvation of sinful men. If the Messiah was to bring an end to sin, and to usher in universal righteousness.. how is it possible that a Messiah with the power to usher in universal righteousness wouldn’t be bringing universal salvation? What is the result of salvation, but righteousness? What is the results of vicarious atonement for sinful men?

Then we have to examine the belief that Jesus Christ was the sacrificial lamb of God that when John the Baptist seen him approaching, declared with confidence, “behold, the Lamb of God that taketh away the sins of the world”! So if John knew and proclaimed that Jesus Christ was the Lamb of God that “taketh” away the sins of the world, why was it not universal? How can anyone declare that He took away the sins of the world, but omitted some? How could that be? How could it be that God would sent his perfect sinless son to die a horrible death on the cross, resurrect him from the dead, and then leave the world in the same sinful state that it was before Jesus? If He didn’t, and He took away the sins of the world, and as the definition and picture the Old Testament gives for the Messiah is that he put an end to sin, how could He have done that for only a few?

Yes, it’s clear even with the words of the bible that not all had sinned. We’ve addressed that topic in other articles, but it’s clear. Jesus said, I come not to call the righteous to repentance, but sinners! The prophetic words were that He would come but for the lost sheep of Israel… to redeem His people from their sins! There were righteous men and women alive at the time the Messiah came, and many that were here before He came, and those remained. Those that were not, that had followed the traditions of men, and the teachings of men against the will of God, and had not heard God, and become stiff necked and rebellious, those were the ones that were the “sinners” that Jesus came to bring the message of salvation! Did that message miss someone?

We have to then take a look at the cross. Some beleive that the blood that flowed down the cross was the covering for the sins of mankind, yet how did that blood only flow to one side.. or one part of the ground that lay beneath it? How is it possible that the life of Christ would have been paid, spent for a world so lost, and not cover all?

Now let’s take a closer look at those of you that have claimed this “salvation” for yourself, knowing that God is no respector of any man’s person. How is it that God has done this for you, that it was a free gift of God’s grace to you, but He would exclude someone else? How can God be God if He’s not able to redeem all that He created? Surely if you believe that God created all men in His image, some how changed them all into sinners, surely you can believe with all that Christ did, that God made us all righteous by what was done then? How could it be possible for you, and not the rest of all mankind?

God has not omitted or excluded anyone. It’s simply the teachings of men and the traditions of men that have exalted themselves over others and made claims that God never has made. God’s promise to Abraham was not to be the Father of one nation, but that he would be the Father of many nations, and those nations are still to this day being born. The gift of God is without repentance! God concluded all in “unbelief” (not sin) to have mercy on all! Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound, so if God’s grace did much more abound then, surely it has even to today, and no one was missed, omitted, or excluded!

The gospel, (good news) remains the same. God has not changed! He created perfection, maintained perfection, and sustains perfection. Even in the face of men’s thinking of sin, shame and guilt, God made a way to never see us in that fashion, even if we insist on seeing others as “unsaved”. But it’s time to realize that if we see anyone as “unsaved”, omitted, excluded, or in any way other than in God’s universal salvation, then we have to include ourselves in that same vision! If you have the faith to believe it’s done for you, why not have the faith of God for all mankind?

The bible records, “all will know me from the least to the greatest”, “it is not my will that any should perish”, “all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord”.. and with many other verses, it’s clear to see that God has and will always have HIS WILL.. and none will perish… all will know HIM.. and all flesh has seen the salvation of the Lord, whether they believe it or not, God knows what He has done…. and if you have any further questions about it… ASK HIM!!

Ask God who it was that He has omitted, excluded, or simply missed! Ask Him how it was that He included you, and forgot someone else.. and if He did.. why did He send Jesus to only do a partial job!! The Messiah ushered in universal righteousness, and if you’re going to accept that Jesus was the Messiah, then aren’t you going to have to also accept that He brought Universal Salvation for all… for to end sin and destroy the works of the devil makes us all righteous, and as result universal salvation came to all! It’s a condition of your birth! It was done for you before you arrived here! It remains for those that will come after you as well! For God is the same yesterday, today and forever!

Ask God!

Q&A- Is everyone saved?

Q. Is everyone saved?
A. Yes…. but this is a loaded question!

One has to first ask some very important questions? Saved from what? Saved to what? Who needed to be saved? Most of what we’ve all been taught about these things have come from sources other than from God directly. Most have discounted what the bible says on these points as well. But here’s a few things to ask God and get answers to for yourself.

If you believe the blood of Christ covered the sins of mankind, how could it have missed anyone? If it covered you, why would God have excluded anyone if He covered yours? If you can bring yourself to believe that by one man’s act of disobedience that all was made sinners, why not believe that by one man’s act of obedience, that all have been saved? Is one man’s actions more powerful than that of Jesus Christ?
For more on this question, see the article titled  “Universal Salvation”

Then comes the question that if we need to be saved, what from? Also, if we are lost, how is that possible? If God, is as most believe, omniscient, meaning everywhere, how is it possible for anyone to be lost from God?

What could the term “lost” mean from the pages of the bible? Have we once again been taught something that the bible does not reflect?? For more on this question, see the article “Is it possible to be lost”?

So there are a lot of questions that first must be answered for oneself regarding these matters… and the answers are to come from the mouth of God, and if one lacks wisdom one is to ASK GOD…. not Denise, not anyone else… right?
