The Separating of the Sheep from the Goats!

From the bible we see Jesus speaking of the separating of the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the tares and both being in the kingdom… however what is it really that the Gospel’s tell us will be the way that the sheep will be known from the goats and the wheat from the tares?

Jesus says… “my sheep hear my voice and to another they will not hearken”. Jesus states, “if you love me keep my commandments”. Jesus speaks of the angels coming to the kingdom and separating the tares first and them being bundled and cast out and the wheat begin gathered and brought into the barn. We’ve heard these things for years and almost all in church speak of these things happening and put them into the perspective of being sometime in the future.. instead of in going on continually and eternally as God is. So what does God say about these things?

The word of God, what God gives is always the tool of separation. It is the sword, the word of the mouth of God that divides and it is the word of Jesus that brings division just as He said.. “I came not to bring peace but division”, and speaks of dividing people from other people… and setting at variance families, as well as making men free! The word of God that Jesus spake is what brings the division, the separation, as the word of God always has. It is what separates the wheat from the tares, the sheep from the goats, as well as the believer from the unbeliever. It separates people from their families.. it separates people from their lands, their cultures and from their traditions… the sword of God… the word of God from the mouth of God.. and that sword is doing the same thing today.

Today, we have come to a point that we as people have had the words of Jesus Christ in written form, even written in red leaping from the pages of our bibles, in our own language and the provision of God in this nation that our people are educated for the most part, to have the capacity to be able to read it for ourselves, without having to have someone teach us. We can pick up the bible and read it and see what it is that those men and women of the Old Testament spoke of hearing and doing and the theme of the bible. It was and is hearing God and obeying God and those that did and those that did not. God’s promise of a Messiah, and the final sending of the Son of God to the people of God.. and the requirement of God as always was to hear Him and obey what He said. So what is it that we have today that separates the sheep from the goats… the wheat from the tares.. and the believer from the unbeliever?

It is the word of God… given by Jesus Christ! It is what Jesus referred to when saying, “had I not come you would not have known sin, however now that I have, you have no further cloak for your sin”. We have no excuse. We have no further covering… we know what it is that is recorded to have been said and commanded by Jesus, and we have no excuse for not following it other than rejecting of Him and the God who sent Him.

It was Jesus, that is recorded in the witness of two or more, that the Almighty thunder from His mouth, “This is my Son, in whom I am well pleased… HEAR HIM”. Jesus is recorded to be the Word of God made flesh.. manifested just as God promised, and dwelling among those that knew of the promise and knew what was recorded in the scriptures, speaking of Him. The one the scriptures bore witness of … that was promised was there… sent.. and confirmed by the Almighty, by the word of His mouth directly, to be the one that was to be heard. There is no other record found in the bible where the Almighty has ever been witnessed to have been heard to say such regarding any one else… so what is it that separates the sheep from the goats, the wheat from the tares, the believer from the unbeliever? It is the word of God spoken in Jesus Christ!

What we are seeing today is that separation like never before. God is calling out those that have professed for years that they love Jesus and that they love the God who sent Him, to see that claiming such things as the Pharisees did of Jesus time is not enough. Claiming to be the seed of Abraham.. and disciples of the law of Moses isn’t enough. It wasn’t in the days of Jesus and it is not today. Those that are the sheep, are those that hear what it is that God spoke through Jesus Christ and follow it.. not hearkening to another… and it’s as simple as that. Just as Jesus said.. “if you love me keep MY commandments”. Jesus doesn’t tell His followers… those that were chosen by Him through God to keep “THE COMMANDMENTS”… He says clearly… “if you love me keep MY commandments”. Jesus is the way, provided by God to not know whether you are one of His own… but also to know God the Father and without following the WAY, provided by God… Jesus states that no man can come to the Father.

So not only does the word of God in Jesus Christ separate the wheat from the tare, the sheep from the goats, that happens every day.. all day .. and is eternal! It happens in the heart of each of us as we come to the realization that what we have said is what we must walk in and follow.. .and that being a hearer of the word is not sufficient.. we must be doers of God’s word as well.

That’s what Jesus said and God has not changed. No more than did God allow His commandments in any other.. or through any other to be ignored and His people to know Him, the same is true now as well. God has not changed… the bible does not speak and record years and years of God giving words that were not followed and giving people time and time to turn from their wicked ways of not following what He told them… to send His Son to be totally ignored and His words not to be followed… and for people of God to think that they are going to be able to know the Father.. to be in a righteous relationship with the Father … and the Son… by totally ignoring what God gave to Jesus as commandments for His followers to not only observe…but also to teach.

So, no matter how many of you think that you can simply confess with your mouth that you believe in Jesus and that you believe that His blood has covered your sins and that you have righteousness in what Jesus did and do not have to have your own righteousness that exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees… Jesus and the God who sent Him says otherwise.

If someone has convinced you that all you have to do is believe… God says that you have been beguiled.. that believing is following and doing what it is that is taught and commanded of Jesus Christ. That if you have hearkened to the voice of Paul.. who has told you that you can simply confess with your mouth and believe in your heart, and do not have to do what Jesus commanded that His followers were to do and they did.. then you have simply hearkened to another voice other than Jesus Christ and His Sheep do not do such things! Jesus warned His disciples of the leaven of the Pharisee.. and He also warned of those that would come after him that were it possible would lead the very elect astray and yet the bible records that those that were not led astray, were those that not only knew the words of Jesus Christ and His teachings, but observed them.

So in closing, the time is at hand! The kingdom of heaven has come and it’s time to enter in… and those that have ears to hear and eyes to see open them to see that if you love Jesus Christ and truly believe that He is the sent of God.. the Way, the Truth, and the Life, and that no man can come to the Father other than by Him, it’s time to let His words be your way, and your judge. God gave those words to Him to be the judge of the quick and the dead as well as the way! His words are what separate the sheep from the goats and the wheat from the tares.. and the believer from the unbeliever… and it is not in reading them… nor is it in saying them… or quoting them… or hearing them… it is in doing them!

“If you love me KEEP my commandments”! If you say that you know Him, and are not keeping His commandments… then according to the word of God, and the testimony of a man who was a believer of Jesus’ words… you are a liar and the truth is not in you. It is only those that truly believe that Jesus is the sent of God.. that Jesus is the only way to the Father… that will not hearken to another… but will keep His commandments.. and will know they are His sheep, as the disciples in the bible did …. for they state clearly… “we know that we know Him, because we keep His commandments”!

ASK GOD, HEAR GOD, KNOW GOD!

“Knowing God”…..??

I have a difficult time reconciling the concept of “knowing God” with anything other than based on a first hand experience, especially given all that the bible shares. From its opening pages, the “knowing” was an intimate and personal experience of God. It wasn’t an intellectual knowing that came from reading books, or writings of another, but first hand experience with God.

That is also the “knowing God” (eternal life) that Jesus speaks of in his instructions to his disciples. They too had heard of all the personal experiences that others had before their time with God… what God told them… what they seen come to pass… and they were living their lives based on that knowledge of God (second hand, if you will), but didn’t “know God” from a deep, personal, intimate level arrived at through personal experience.

If we carefully examine what the bible says Jesus taught, we see that Jesus said that one is to know whether his words are of God by seeing if they bring about what it was that he says they will. It was a “common” understanding that a prophet or anyone that was sharing with another thus saith God” … the measure for knowing whether it was God saying those things or not was in them coming to pass, and people being able to see it and experience it for oneself personally and directly.

So when we see Jesus telling his disciples that they must forsake all to be a disciple…and things like “God knows what they have need of before you ask”, that God feeds the birds and the flowers and will feed them….. and then tells them to go out without any provisions and do what Jesus said God had given him to tell them, … it was to KNOW GOD.

It was to see for themselves first (personally experience) if Jesus was speaking the words of God… if what Jesus said would happen…. so that they would know Jesus was sent of God, and speaking the words of God to them. It was about having a personal experience with God the point of each of them  “KNOWING GOD”, and Jesus Christ whom God sent. This is what “eternal life” is defined in the bible as being….

Jhn 17:3 And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.

So those that did so… and had a personal experience with God, God confirming the words Jesus spoke to them and the power that Jesus said God had given to them, are those that “knew God”.  They knew God in such a deep and intimate manner as a result of that… that whatever God spoke to them or revealed to them, was trusted in and followed, without having to have any “experience of it” afterwards, just as Abraham had.

Abraham, was told several things by God, and they came to pass as God said. He had a first hand, personal, intimate relationship with God and knew the power of God to bring about whatever God said. So once the “personal experience” of God consistently established that “knowing” … that “trustworthiness” in God…. Abraham then, as the bible states, knew God and whatever it was that God said would come to pass, even if he didn’t see it first hand. There was a “knowing and trustworthiness” in God by Abraham from that point forward….that no matter whether Abraham seen it or not… Abraham knew that whatever God said would happen… without wavering in any doubt or unbelief.  Not because of Abraham’s ability to believe… or to have “faith in God”.. but based on a consistent first hand experience of seeing God time and time again speak to Abraham, and bring it to pass just as God said.

So when we look to the bible…. it outlines for us what “knowing God” means… as well as the basis for how one was able to know God.  It began with hearing what God said, following what God spoke, and seeing it come to pass as God said it would. That is the means for establishing a personal and intimate relationship with God and having such a personal experience of God, that one has a “knowing” in the heart far beyond whatever it is that ‘knowing in the head” can ever bring to a person.

It is the same manner in which we can know also that what is in the pages of the bible, are the words of God spoken to Jesus Christ as well.  If one believes them to be, then following them, will bring one to KNOWING GOD as a result as well.

Knowing God is not to be about reading writings in books, or having others share with us their personal experiences with God and about us “believing” what they say about such things or the bible says … its about KNOWING GOD.

That is the “eternal life” that the bible states Jesus came for man to have…  so be encouraged today to know God!!

Christianity Does not Exist!

Some of you upon reading this title are offended by the mere statement that Christianity does not exist without considering the totality of the message here. If you are one of those that is offended and rejects what I am about to share here with you, then so be it. God himself has said and clearly made known that those that are called by Him name are the ones that reject His words and His instruction, and that prophets and messengers sent of God for centuries were rejected not by unbelievers.. or those that did not know God, or the power of God, but by those that He had chosen, and demonstrated His power to, yet turned away to make for themselves other gods.

Well enough of that… I’ll leave that to another topic all together, and simply share with you the message that Christianity does not exist and why. It begins with a foundational look at the word Christianity and where it comes from. It is common knowledge that Christianity originally meant a group or community of Christians. Christians, meaning the adherents, followers, or disciples of Christ. Christian was not the name that a disciple called himself… but it was a name that others who did not believe called him in mockery for following the teachings, and going about to teach others to observe what Christ taught, after Christ was crucified publicly as a criminal. It was the name given to men that were not taught who Christ was by flesh and blood. They did not come to know Christ, by any other means than what they seen Him living and seen Him doing, and by what God said about Him! These men were disciplined by the teachings of Christ, and knew and believed who He was to the degree that even after His death, as a criminal they continued to do as He taught them, and to speak of Him, and using the power that He gave them throughout the towns where God sent them. Those were Christians… those were the ones that were called Christians by others… those that knew who Christ was not from the teachings of flesh and blood, not from hearing someone else tell them about Him.. or telling them what they should do to honor him, but those that heard His voice.. and hearkened not unto another. Those were Christians…. Those men were the ones that did what Christ said, taught others to observe what Christ commanded them to do, the ones that were given the power to heal, cast out demons, take up serpents and not be harmed, and the signs that they believe followed them. They didn’t have to go around wearing pins on their labels, adorning their donkey’s with “fish” symbols, or carrying bibles.. telling the world they believe in Christ.. the signs followed them.. and there is no record of any of them ever calling themselves Christian, much less running around asking everyone they met if they are Christian. That was what a Christian was recognized and defined as being not by Christians… but by the world!

The early Christians were not considered part of “Christianity”… they were considered to be followers of “The Way”. That was what Jesus had referred to himself as… the WAY.. and those that seen the followers of Christ referred to them as followers of “The Way”. It wasn’t until much later that the word Christianity began to be used, and the meaning of Christian changed no longer representing the followers or those disciplined by the teachings of Christ, but simply a person who professes to believe in Christ, but has no signs following them giving evidence that they believe. The word Christianity, as well as the religion of “Christianity” no longer exists because it’s foundational element no longer exists. No longer do we have men and women so chosen of God in Christ, disciplined by the teachings of Christ, who have left all that they have to come follow and be disciplined, nor do they have the power that were given to those that were chosen of God in Christ, disciplined and sent out by Christ. There is no longer anyone that follows the teachings of Christ, nor goes about to teach others to observe what Christ commanded that His followers do. No one that is but those that Christianity mocks and persecutes and calls heretics. Christianity does not exist because it’s foundational element does not exist. There are no Christians… so therefore Christianity does not exist.

As men and women found the WAY to be to difficult, even though some would attempt to follow it, having not been chosen of God or empowered by God to do such, they would fail. They could not do as Jesus had commanded, and found the Way to hard, and turned away from the teachings of Christ not to walk with Christ again, that continues to this very day. However, instead of mankind finding another word to define those that have turned from the teachings of Christ, and are not called as followers of Christ, the name Christian has been changed to reflect a person that believes Jesus existed and has professed Him to be Lord of their Lives without any understanding at all of what it means to have a Lord over one’s life. The word has changed, and so has the true meaning ceased to exist… and as it has ceased to exist, so has Christianity along with it. Christianity today is nothing short of the Anti Christ… for Christianity today in all its varying forms… and all it’s many named denominations has done nothing more than been allowed by God to be the beguiling serpents God himself placed in the garden where God placed mankind .. the testing ground of those that were called out by God, hear the voice of God, who would hearken to the voice of another.. follow in the image and likeness of Adam whose heard the voice of God, walked with God, and yet turned to do what another voice told him to do knowing full well what God had said. Not only does Christianity teach us to listen to everyone and anyone called by the “name of God”.. it teaches us to observe everything EXCEPT what Jesus commanded His followers. That is Anti Christ, any way you look at it! Christianity does not exist, because there are no more Christians to be found in the world today. What we find in the world today.. which was also in the world in Christ’s time are the Anti Christ. Those that God said would reject His Son, as they did the prophets that were sent to them to go off and do things their own ways! That would lead astray the people of God to worship other gods, to build up temples that God did not command to be built, and who would teach God’s people to reject Jesus Christ, the sent of God as if He never existed while calling themselves by His name.

There is a warning of God that is going out today. It is the same warning that was given in the days of the prophets, as well as in the day of Jesus to the “lost sheep of Israel”. Israel and Judah all through the bible represent those “chosen of God”.. and the lost sheep are those that knew God, heard His voice and turned away from Him.. but the message and warning is the same… “turn from your wicked ways, hear me and obey what I have commanded ye”. The only difference in the message delivered by the prophets that were killed by the stiff-necked rebellious chosen of God, then and what is going on right now is this…. “how much sorer punishment is deserving of those that trample underfoot the Son of the Living God, who have taken the name of Christ in vain, who have worshiped with their lips but had their hearts far from Him, who have not heard His voice, not followed His instructions, and have led others to do the same?

Christianity does not exist…. for there cannot exist Christianity with Christians.. and there cannot be Christians without having men and women chosen to follow the teachings of God in Christ.. being disciplined by the commands Christ gave to His followers… followers of Christ… and called by that name by those that do not follow… yet see the evidence in the lives of those that do!

These are the signs that shall follow those that believe…….

FOR CHRISTIANS ONLY!!

HARD CORE!! HARD CORE!! HARD CORE!! HARD CORE!! HARD CORE!!
WARNING!! WARNING!!! WARNING!!!!

Now that I have your attention, I am going to share with you what God has directed me to say, and remind you to ASK GOD! HEAR HIM!

It is time to put up or SHUT UP! I am speaking to everyone that says they are a “Christian”. Who wants to tell everyone about a personal relationship with Jesus, how much of a sinner in need of a Savior everyone is, and yet have no more regard for the words of Jesus and the word of God than a hill of beans! It is time to either know what you say is from God, and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ, or stop telling anyone that you’re a “christian” or that you believe in Christ!

In fact, everyone is put on notice right now! God is going to use the resources He has to see that each of you are confronted with your hypocrisy and will make public you’re taking of His Son’s Name in Vain!! God said as He sent Nathan to point the finger at King David, saying “you are the one”, Moses to tear down the idols in the desert, as well as Jesus to stand in the face of the religious of His day and say “ye hypocrites, ye brood of vipers”.. likewise He has sent me!

What do I mean by this?? Am I making a threat? NO, it’s a promise and one that God has spoken that I am to do. I will no longer sit idly by while people saying the bible is the word of God, asks me to give them “book, chapter, & verse”! Especially when quoting the very words of their Christ, the son of the Living God, and the one that covered you with HIS BLOOD! If you’re willing to believe, accept, and mandate that others know Jesus, then surely you should know what He said and be willing to do it no matter what anyone says or thinks! Jesus said, “if you are ashamed of me before men, I will be ashamed of you before my Father”! Listen up!!

“Christians” confront me and tell me that I’ve lost my mind because I refuse to pray in public. Why? Jesus said specifically to HIS DISCIPLES, “when thou prayest..”that they were to go to their closets and pray to the Father in secret! Yes, I know that He referred to the hypocrites and many of you have said that you can pray in public as long as you don’t do it to get the credit for it… but listen to me closely.. take a good hard look… if the bible is the word of God.. Jesus is the SON OF GOD.. and you say you believe it, then why are you praying ANY PLACE other than where the VERY SON OF GOD told the disciples to? Are you not disciples of CHRIST? Are you not followers of Christ and HIS TEACHINGS?? If you love Him, you would do as He said..wouldn’t you??? Then in case you haven’t read the verse totally, look at where Jesus said the hypocrites were…. “for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men.”! They are standing in the churches, and in the corners of the streets, being seen of men! Jesus’ instructions were clear! Read Them! Mat 6:6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.

Then some of you say we’ve lost our minds because we’ve sold all that we have, given to the poor, and spent these past years doing all that we could to help make life better for others… going where ever God directs us and doing whatever God tells us. Why? Isn’t that what Jesus said to do? Did Jesus instruct the disciples to join a church, gather up possessions, and think about only what benefits them?? No.. His instruction was to “go ye into all nations”..”teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded ye”.

Jesus’ words to those disciples were not options.. they were direct commandments..and He went further to say that those that love Him will obey His commandments!!! Yes, Jesus did tell the rich young ruler, to “sell all that you have, give to the poor, and come follow me” but He also taught the disciples and others in parables about the “kingdom of God being likened unto”… and that those that found it “sold all they had” and bought or went about to use all they had to “get it”! So, why is it that when people professing to believe that Jesus is the Son of God, our ensample, encounter those that have done just what Jesus said… you tell them they are nuts…. or that what they are doing is not “of God”!!

Then we find Jesus saying to the disciples… “if ye have the faith of a mustard seed”… and “these are the signs that SHALL FOLLOW THOSE THAT BELIEVE”.. and the list goes on! So why is it that it’s not happening? Why are those with the smallest of faith not out there healing the sick, raising the dead, make the lame to walk, the blind to see? Why aren’t you moving those mountains that you’re always talking about being in your way or in the way of getting the “will of God” done on earth as it is in heaven? Whose responsible for the condition of the world?? Didn’t Jesus said to His disciples… “whatever you ask in my Name shall be done of you by my Father in heaven”.. where are the believers in Jesus on that point?? What is wrong.. are you too afraid to ask God for something in Jesus’ name because you’re afraid it won’t happen and people will laugh at you or make fun of you because it didn’t work? Was that the criteria that Jesus gave His disciples?? Does it matter what men think of you! Are you here as the pleasers of men, or to honor God and the Christ He sent, by following the instructions given by HIM???

Then I have to ask, because some of you will surely be saying at this point that I’ve taken these verses out of context, or they aren’t for today…so let me ask you this! If that is the case, then tell me how it is that you can put any faith and trust in the verses which speak of salvation, resurrection, a second coming, or eternal life if none of the other things that Jesus taught and instructed are for today? Either Jesus said those words, and they are Truth, or they aren’t… and if you can’t believe some of them, or they are not for today, then surely none of them are for today… Right??

I’ve stood along the bedside of people who believed in God, believed what Jesus said and rejected all medical intervention to save their lives knowing that if it was God’s will for them to live that no one.. nothing would have the power over their God!! Some died.. yes.. and some didn’t.. but the ones that died knew what they believed and didn’t care what anyone else thought. That’s the same faith that Jesus was the ensample of!! Willing that His own life be given rather than turn from what He knew God said!! Where is that example today??

Some of you are so wrapped up in your own life that you forget that your ensample..the one that you’re here to worship and try to introduce others to gave HIS LIFE.. not just the words of His mouth to benefit all mankind!! He died a horrible death on a cross.. that all of you want to embrace as the tool of your salvation, and then what… not do the same? Do you need to go out and buy a cross and get some governmental official to nail you to it.. NO!! But you do need to realize that there is more to being a “christian” than church membership, and making some statements of faith to ease your guilt ridden conscious in front of other people who have told you that you’re a sinner in the first place!! There is a life that must be lived, and it must be for the benefit of all mankind!! It is time to, as they say.. “to put up or SHUT UP!”

Is this hard-core.. yes it is! Do I make any apologies for it… No I do not!! I am delivering to you the word of God! If you are not sure, and you don’t recognize what I’m saying here as being found in your bible.. then you should be asking GOD about that now… because your bible is where the Living God documented by the hands of those years ago that HE speaks to His creation, and He hasn’t changed!!

In closing, let me make another clarification for any of you that up until this point might have been mistaken about why I’m here, and why this ministry was founded! I am here as a minister of the word of God for the purpose to promote the Gospel of Jesus Christ!! If you make claims about believing in God, Jesus, or the Gospel and are not willing to live it, then don’t claim it!! Harsh you might say, but read your bible…God isn’t known as a “speak easy” and He’s not directed me to be one either! It is time to either live what you say the bible declares about Jesus, and God, or get out-of-the-way of those that do, and will continue to!

It’s time for you to take your butts out of the pews of your churches, and find out what the wilderness is all about and why it was that your GOD.. sent His only begotten into the wilderness before sending Him unto the people! It’s time to realize the great commission given by Jesus to HIS DISCIPLES did not include warming the pews found in some building, nor did it include having a lot of material possessions to interfere with doing what God directed them!! Either you believe Jesus was the Son of God, your ENSAMPLE.. or you don’t! If you do.. then do what HE said.. and if you don’t.. then realize that you are the unbeliever!

Step up to the plate… stop being concerned about what others will say or think about you… get in your secret place with God and hear HIM… Hear what He is saying TODAY!!! Hear Him reminding you that JESUS did what HE said HE did… that He is the ENSAMPLE…and that living as He did is the only way possible to come to know God as He is!!! Lay down your life, sell all that you have… know yourself whether this Gospel is real or not! Raise the dead, heal the sick, feed the poor, move those mountains! As God sent Jesus into the world… you were also sent here by the same Almighty God !! You are here for a purpose and by the divine will of God!! Take your place in the Kingdom!! Stand in the midst of the storms and command them “peace be still”! Feed multitudes with your two piece fish dinner! Walk on water when you need to!! If you don’t believe it … and live it… then don’t try to share it with anyone else!!! You cannot give to anyone else what you yourself do not have!!!

This is not a matter for private interpretation … God has spoken!!!

Is Jesus really the Son of God??

“Come Reason”
Newsletter of Denise Smith

Is Jesus really the Son of God?

Does that question seem silly to you? Are you offended to have someone ask you if Jesus really is the Son of God? I have to wonder why? Are we living what we believe regarding that question? Let’s take a look.

Many people tell us and want us to believe that Jesus is the son of God, that in fact He is God incarnate, and that He is the way, the truth and the life, however it is those same people that don’t believe it themselves. See the bible is full of the words of Jesus and the instructions that He gave to His disciples, yet none of those calling themselves Christians today believe any of what He said nor do they do what He instructed. Jesus told the disciples to go into the nations and to baptize them in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Spirit, but we get no further than that. We don’t read the rest of those instructions which clearly say that those that are going into all the nations should be “teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded ye”. So, it’s clear to see that there aren’t many people who believe Jesus is really the Son of God, much less God incarnate.

Then to make matters even worse, so many are doing exactly opposite of what Jesus taught in other areas and yet still say they believe He is the son of God. We have just went through a celebration of Christmas which was supposed to be representative of His birth, but what did it accomplish? What did the virgin birth, the mission, the healings and the death, burial and resurrection accomplish? Seems by the actions of those that claim to believe in all of it that it didn’t accomplish anything. The very words of Christ are “written in red” and stand out in the pages of the New Testament only to be ignored and rejected in lieu of the words and instructions of Paul, who was not the only begotten son of God! And before those of you who think so highly of Paul are offended by what I’ve said, you just remember who it is that you’re believing is the Son of God, God incarnate and ask yourself why if all that was really what you believed… why would you care what anyone else other than God and the Son of God said?

People say that Christians are hated and that America has become a nation set against Christianity, but I tell you that it’s not. I can assure you that if people were seeing Christ and the nation of America was filled with those that followed the teachings of Christ there wouldn’t be any doubt in the minds of anyone whether Jesus Christ is really the Son of God or not!! But when the people who claim He is the Son of God do not believe enough in Him and what He taught to follow it and encourage and teach others to do so… then all we have dear friends is the “Anti Christ” and people hating the hypocrisy that it shows!

Surely if Jesus Christ really is the Son of God those that believe in Him would honor Him and His teachings enough to follow them and do all that they instruct. Surely if He is the way, the truth and the life, those that believe that would live their lives in accordance with that… but the sad part of it all is that we’ve just spent millions of dollars, and many, many hours celebrating the birth of a man who most of His followers don’t really believe was the Son of God in the first place, even though they fight for the right to celebrate His birth, and want the world to join them in that celebration but I ask you for what? What is there to celebrate, or to honor in the day that Christ was born when none of those that believe He was the Christ, honor Him or believe in Him enough to do as He instructed?

Jesus Christ taught many things and gave many instructions to his disciples and instructed them to “go into the nations, …teaching them to observe whatsoever I have commanded ye” and yet there is no one today here that is willing to follow those same commandments…. observe them… and yet want to continue to celebrate the birthday of a man they don’t even believe in enough to follow what HE said!!

Why would the world want to believe in or come to know a man who you yourself do not honor or believe in enough to follow what He said? Go back to your bibles… those of you who believe the bible is the word of God and read for yourself what Jesus Christ taught and said. You will find them written in red in your bible and radiating from the pages! Read them for yourself and realize who it is that those instructions were given to… it was to those that came to follow Him and those that were disciplined by those teachings! Read them for yourselves and then look carefully at what you’re living… is it what Jesus taught His disciples… or is it another gospel… and you’re serving another??

If His words are not enough for those that claim to know him and follow Him to honor… then how it is possible to ask anyone else to honor Him or follow His teachings when His own will not?

Is Jesus Christ really the Son of God??? Obviously, He’s not or millions… countless millions would be following what He taught, and being the example today of the mission He completed 2004 years ago!!

As a man thinketh in his heart so shall he be….

Where are the “Christians”?

That question has been radiating in my mind now for weeks. God told me that there is a lost element in Christianity and it’s the Christian. What does that mean? Simple. Like so many other things in our culture and society, the definition of the word has been changed to such a degree that the very basis for what Christianity once meant no longer exists. Why you might ask? Simple. When there are no Christians, there can be no Christianity.

Christian at one time was the name that people called those that followed Christ. The name that wasn’t a name of honor but a name of mockery. The name mockingly called the group of people who would continue to follow the teachings of someone who had just been publicly crucified as a criminal. The name people were called, not the name they called themselves. The name called not based on what they said, but on what they did.

Yet, today, Christianity has taken on a new definition. No longer does it refer to a people who follow the teachings of Christ. Today it defines a group of people who follow what everyone other than Christ taught, and who have taken the name unto themselves making a living mockery out of all that Christ ever stood for. No longer does Christian define a person that lives what they believe… it now defines a person or group of people who claim to believe, yet live contrary to what they claim to believe. They take the name of Christian, referring to themselves by that name, and yet do not live the life that Christ described, nor any of the other teachings that He is supposed to have taught. The lives they live are in direct contrast to the teachings of Christ, and yet they wonder why it is that others want nothing to do with their “Christianity”. How is it possible for a person to take the name of Christ, to call themselves Christian, to insist that people must believe that Christ is the son of God, the redeemer of the world, when the very people calling themselves by HIS NAME…and by a religion that is supposed to be based on His life and teaching are the furthest thing from the lives these people live.

It is very clear… most people who call themselves Christians simply are not. They do not believe that Christ was the Son of God. They do not believe the bible is the word of God. Nor do they believe that Christ is the example that Christians are to follow. They have went about to adopt a way of life that differs greatly from the life of Christ, and have justified their actions and their mockery of God and His Son by saying that to be a Christian is simply to believe in Christ. That dear friend never was the reason that people in Antioch referred to the disciples as Christians, nor is it the reason today that anyone should call themselves Christian.

I am often asked if I am a Christian, and I respond, why do you ask? Then I get responses like, “if you’re not ashamed of God you’d answer that you are”… or “you need to be one”… or many other “classically rehearsed words” that have no more meaning to the person asking the question, than does the understanding of what Christian means. Jesus said “they will know you by your fruits”, and yet so many today aren’t seeing the fruits of a Christlike life, therefore they are having to ask. Most don’t have a clear understanding of what Christian means, nor have they seen the life of Christ lived by the people claiming to be Christians, so they can’t easily recognize and have to ask. Some just ask because it’s simply what they must do to see if you’re one of their “group” or if you’re one of those they need to “convert” to their group!

If a life is not able to reflect the totality of what a person believes then taking a name to identify yourself by when you’re life isn’t speaking clearly what you believe is to be a mockery of all that is Christian. That is the core reason that so many today hate Christians. It is not because of what Christ taught. It is not because of who Christ was. It is not because of who Christ is said to have been. Most people’s hatred for Christians comes from the hypocrisy they live. They are hated because they claim to love and serve a Christ that loved everyone when they don’t. They are hated because they try to change people and convert them telling them they are worthless and undeserving when Christ nor God ever said that. They are hated because they are judgmental and full of hatred toward God’s creation, yet take the name of His Son and call themselves Christian. Look around you. You don’t have to look very far to see the hatred that’s bred by Christianity, not the religion, but the people of the religion. Why, not because of the religion itself… but because of the people who have affixed themselves to the religion, yet have turned away from and adopted a doctrine that is very far from the foundational attributes of the religion, and then have redefined the religion based on their own doctrines.

I have had the honor to travel across this wonderful country. I have yet to find one person that hates me or that has any problem with what beliefs I have, other than those claiming to be Christians. The hatred that I’ve encountered is within the churches of America, and among those that call themselves by the name of our God. They get highly offended when I will not follow what they teach and mandate, but insisting on hearing God and following only Him. Wonder why it is that so many that say they know God..and His will would be upset with a person who will not listen to them, but instead insists on listening to only God and encourage others to do the same?

All it takes is for one Christian to read what their Christ taught, in the book they all claim is the word of the God that sent Him, to see whether or not they really are Christian or not! It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that if there really were CHRISTIANS here in America today… people that were following the teachings of Christ….there would be very little hatred against them at all. How can you hate a person who puts you and your needs first? How can you hate a person that would sell the very land, houses, and possessions they own to see that you had food to eat, and a place to sleep? How could you hate a person that would not condemn you no matter what your life had been, but would sit with you and encourage you to hear God and not what a hateful society claiming to be Christian has to say about you? How could you hate a person that would refuse to be a part of building a building in your community where you’re not welcome, where you must have clothes to wear to, and who will drive right past you sitting on the street cold and hungry to go into? How can you hate a person who would stop long enough in their daily routine to say hello to you when you’re just passing by? How can you hate a person who will not exalt themselves over you simply because you don’t believe what they believe? How can you hate a person who will show you love no matter what you claim to believe, where you live, or what your social status is? How can you hate a person who values you as much a part of their God’s creation as they value themselves? How can you hate a person who would stand by you when everyone else doesn’t? I tell you… you can’t. Nor can a living soul hate Christ or the person that lives life accordingly! People in the world today do not hate Christ, nor the teachings of Christ, they hate the hypocrisy in the lives of those that have taken the name of Christ, and do not live the life He outlined. The hatred only comes toward those that don’t…. and won’t… and yet have taken the name as a mockery!! Christians aren’t hated in the world today because of their beliefs… they are hated because of the lives they live that is a direct contradiction to the teachings of Christ. There is not a person alive on this planet that can hate a person or want to cause them harm that follow what Christ lived, other than those that claim to be Christian, and yet reject the teachings of Christ.

I challenge each of you that reads this message to take a moment to look at your life. If you’re having to tell people who you’re a Christian, then you’re not. If you’re having to go to church and be taught of other men, then you’re not following the teachings of Christ. If you’re life isn’t what is defined by Christ as the way that you should live, then don’t take the name and be a mockery to all that Christ stands for! Ask God, Hear what God has to say, and stop listening to what people tell you about yourself, and about those that you are here on this wonderful planet with. We are all part of the creation of the Almighty God. No more valuable to anyone including God than the person standing, sitting, or laying next to you. No more valuable to anyone including God than the drunk or the prostitute on the side of the road you drive by on your way to your churches. No more valuable than the least of those that are here with us. It is time for us to see that and understand that being anything less than what Christ taught is being a mockery of all that He stood for… and what it is testifying to the world is that YOU’RE the one that doesn’t believe He’s the son of God… that God sent Him… nor that God is the Almighty!

So Ask God, Hear Him, and Only Him!!!

The “Reconciliation” Ministry!

It has been a while since we’ve updated the Newsletter, however it has not been because there is nothing going on. Quite the contrary has been the case. We have been meeting and discussing with many about the Reconciliation Ministry of God. What is that you might ask? It’s the ministry that supports the reconciliation of mankind to God.

Most ministries would say as we did once that it’s the objective of all ministries to reconcile mankind to God, and to have people realize what one must do to be reconciled, but it that possible? If there is anything that any of us have to do to be reconciled to God then there isn’t any way possible that God is God, much less that Jesus Christ came to “reconcile mankind unto God”. Then we have the issue that if Jesus didn’t accomplish that, then what was the reason to have sent him and have him go through what He did?? Was He the Messiah, or not? The question is not posed to those that don’t believe in Christ, or the redemptive work of God through Christ, but I am posing the question to those that are “believers”. That believe He was, and that He did the will of God!

We have to realize that for us to believe that Christ was the Messiah, then it is US that have to realize, that despite what we see and hear that God has in fact through Jesus Christ reconciled mankind unto Himself, or Christ wasn’t the Messiah, nor was He the son of God! If WE are going to claim to believe that the redemptive work of God in Christ was done 2004 years ago, then it is going to be up to us to live that, and to change our traditions and teachings to support that, instead of continuing to support the traditions and teachings to the contrary.

You might ask what teachings and traditions to the contrary is there? That is simple! The tradition and teachings that support or proclaim that mankind still needs reconciliation to God, that mankind still has the possibility of being eternally separated from God, and therefore must do and live a certain way to obtain that “reconciliation”. Either it was done in Christ, or it wasn’t… and it’s up to those of US that say that it has been done… to believe it and live accordingly. Let me give you a couple of examples of things to consider:

If a person is here on the earth today, then they are reconciled to God. They are covered by what Jesus did 2004 years ago whether they believe it or not, or whether they accept it or not. A person’s belief or acceptance has no power to change what God has done, in Christ, or God simply isn’t God. So to tell a person that they are separated from God by some action or unbelief is for you yourself to deny what you claim God did. It’s not the unbeliever that’s really the unbeliever… it’s the one claiming to believe what God has done, and yet doesn’t believe it themselves.

If we believe that God would allow a man to sin in the first place, and would send Christ to be the “price for sin” once and for all, then how is it that any of US could tell a person today, some 2004 years after what WE claim to believe about CHRIST, that they are some how able to go to hell and avoid the payment that the ALMIGHTY GOD gave for sin once and for all! See once again, it’s saying we believe God did something…and then telling others information to the contrary that makes us the UNBELIEVERS… not others.

Some of you might at this point be having a bit of difficulty understanding this and might even be saying it’s not possible that this has happened because I look around and see things going on to the contrary! So for those of you that are in that position, (I was myself at one time) let me ask you this, if you can believe God is the Almighty, that He is not a liar, that He has done what He said He has done, does it depend on you seeing it before you’re going to believe it… or could it be possible that when you “believe” it…and live as you claim to believe that then you will begin to see it?

We are so determined to tell people they need Jesus…God..and that they must believe…to avoid hell, and the consequences of their actions…but I have to ask you this…. why are WE the ones that aren’t believing what WE say that God did… and the redemptive work of CHRIST??

God either reconciled mankind unto Himself through the redemptive work of Christ, or He didn’t? If He didn’t, then the entire mission and life of Christ was a worthless cause, and God and His word is a lie! If that is the case, then there is no reason for anyone to know Jesus, or God in the first place. If this is so difficulty for the “believers” to get a hold of and believe… then how is it that we’d call anyone else a ‘unbeliever” without first realized that the reflection we see in them is just our own being mirrored back to us!

I challenge each of you that believe… to believe. To realize that God is not contingent on what His creation believes or doesn’t… He’s God..and if He said it was done…then it was and nothing including unbelief will change it!! It is time for those that say WE BELIEVE that He did what He said He did to believe it, and live accordingly, or count ourselves among the numbers of UNBELIEVERS!!

Ask God, Hear Him, and Know Him!!

Whose Word are you taking?

Whose Word are you taking?

We often speak of the “word of God” in referring to the bible or we say that we have “God’s word” on things when it’s only the words that we’ve found in the bible. So I ask you to consider for a moment “whose words are you taking?”

When we are faced with decisions of life, we seek the most expert person we can find and get their advise before we make any decisions. We look to find experts or the source of information on a topic or matter in all situations, other than where the word of God, the “bible” is concerned. Most people who believe the bible is the infallible word of God only offer as a reason for that belief or the basis for it as “it says so”… implying that the bible says it’s the word of God.

So does that mean that it is the word of God simply because it says that it is? Would that likewise mean that if I told you that I’m a cardiologist that you’d allow me to operate on your heart without first checking it out? Certainly not… you would question my credentials and rightfully so! So why is there such a fear in people who believe the bible is the word of God questioning whether it is or not? It’s as if God is going to punish you or be upset with you questioning the bible being the word of God…but why would He? Even the bible says to “come reason”… “ask and ye shall have”..”if you lack wisdom ask God”.. so why would there be so many people upset when a person questions or has questions about whether the bible is the word of God or not? It would seem that a person that knows God would want another person to be confident about what they are going to believe about God… and would encourage them to ask God and know for sure! But is this the real issue?? No, I think not. I think the real issue lies within the hearts of those that want to believe the bible is the word of God… that it is infallible…. and yet have not for one moment considered asking God if the bible is His word for themselves. We all know that where there is uncertainty… there is always defensiveness and fear! It goes hand in hand.

We’ve been told for years that the bible is the word of God. That is came through inspired men who HEARD God’s voice and penned what God told them about situations, circumstances, and things to come. We are told that the bible is the instruction book for life… but I have to ask…”who has told you that”? Have any of you ever taken a few minutes to ask God if those words are His words? Have you ever ask God if He left behind the bible for us to know Him, and know about Him? Have you ever asked God if those men were really inspired? Or have you like so many others simply taken the word of another instead of asking God? Have you like many others, “just assumed” that it was because so many say that it is? Would you likewise apply that same logic and reason to other things? Can you really base your entire destiny and journey through life on the “assumption” instead of asking God?

Then we have to consider why wouldn’t we have asked God? He is the Almighty, All knowing, creator of all, who is attributed to having inspired those men to pen the words He spoke…so why haven’t we asked God? It surely is something that everyone who believes in God as the Almighty, Supreme Being should consider and ask themselves. If all that we seem to believe about God is real…why would we take anyone else’s word for anything?

It is not my intention to prove to you that the bible is the word of God… or that it is not. It is only to say to each of you that we need to stop being habitually prone to take the words of another without asking God. Most of all that we’ve based Christianity and being a christian on is found in the pages of a book…of which we’ve never asked the Author any questions about. How is it that we’ve been reading and claiming to live by a book that few of us have ever asked God about at all? How can we base our entire life and the instructions for life on the pages of a book without asking the Creator of all things… if it’s His word or not? Can we really continue to live our lives… following or attempting to follow and trusting in the words found in a book without asking the God of the book whether it’s His words or not? Can we continue to live our entire lives with the hopes and belief that the bible is the word of God merely because someone else has told us that it is…or because the pages of the book records that it is? Is it something you’re willing to believe without asking about? Why would you?? Think about it… why would you want to do what you “think” is right… when you have the resource of the Almighty God to ask??

So many of us have without any consideration or question put so much faith and trust in the words of the bible and yet so few of us have ever asked God if they are in fact His words???If He truly is the God of the bible…and He hasn’t changed..then He will likewise speak the word to you that you need to hear and they will likewise inspire you as they did many before you… but you’ll really never know for sure until you ….Ask Him… Hear Him… and know Him!!

Is Salvation based on anything you do….

“Come Reason”
Newsletter of Denise Smith
Volume no. 104-4
January 28, 2004

Is salvation based on anything that you have to do or have done?

The response to that for most of us would be, NO! As a person this week stated to me, “I am not righteous because of what I have done, will do, or could do, nor by what I haven’t done or won’t do. It’s not by my merit, but by the grace and declaration of God”. Most of us would agree with that completely and have taken great comfort in knowing that. But then comes the next thing to consider…and which is the very next thing that most people would say… “salvation is available to who ever will believe in Jesus Christ”. Now I ask you, is that statement not a contradiction of the first?

If we have to believe on Christ to have “salvation” then it surely is by merit, or action! If we are required to “believe” before we can receive the salvation of God through Jesus Christ, then is it really by declaration of God or by what one does? Now, does that mean that if we don’t believe salvation was by God through Christ, then it isn’t? Would that not be like saying that just because I don’t believe it… it never happened? God didn’t conclude all men in unbelief to have mercy on all simply because one or two or a million of us don’t believe it… or won’t believe? Is that possible…that an Almighty God would be subject to the decisions or beliefs of those that He created? Or was it done…no matter whether anyone believes or not?

Then comes the issue with those that would seem to think that they are of a special group because they have “believed” and believe they have received salvation by their “belief”. They say that they are “saved” because they have believed on Christ and infer to those that haven’t “believed” or professed, that they are “not saved” because they haven’t “believed”. So now with that said…is that possible? If it’s not possible to be “saved” without first being a “believer” then there is no way possible for anyone to be saved, because I’m sure that all of you will readily admit that you didn’t ALWAYS BELIEVE! So if “believing” is what the requirement is… and most will admit that they didn’t always “believe”.. does that mean that because there was a time that you didn’t “believe” you can’t be “saved”….and the redemptive work of Christ didn’t take place until you “believed”? Could it be that it was already done for you…. as it has been done for the entire world… whether a person believes it’s done or not?

Could it be possible that the Almighty God is bringing us to the understanding that nothing that He does, has done, or will done will ever be contingent on the actions, beliefs, or the wisdom and understanding of that which He created??

Some will clearly say that the benefits of salvation aren’t available to you until you “believe”…. but again how could that be possible…those benefits were available for each of us even when we didn’t believe… and they were done and declared by God to have been finished whether there is a living soul that will ever believe or not! Your belief or unbelief will never change the Almighty God, nor will it alter in any way the things which have been done!! If it were so, and a requirement to believe before receiving salvation…. then no one would be able to ever have salvation…for there is not one that can with a pure heart say that they were always and have always been a “believer”, and in that admission, would be the disqualification for salvation if “believing” is a requirement!!

God asked me one time when I was in the mindset as many of you are and have been that because I had done this or that I was “saved” …. He simply ask… “Do you believe that what I’ve said I have done was done for you?” I said “yes, I do”. Then God said something that I will never forget. He said… “I am no respecter of any man’s person and what I’ve done for you I’ve done for all. If you are going to believe I’ve done it for you, then likewise you must believe that I’ve done it for everyone!”

How could I ever believe that if God could declare my righteousness well before I was sent here…and without me doing anything… including being born…. that He would had not done the same for EVERYONE…even when they didn’t believe it or accept it… it didn’t change what God had done!!! How can we get around the verses in the bible that says “all flesh shall see the salvation of the Lord”…”God concluded all in unbelief to have mercy on all”?

If you’re able and willing to “believe” that God has done this for you … even when you didn’t believe… then likewise you should believe it for everyone else on the planet whether they believe or not!!! You cannot exclude anyone without excluding yourself!! AMEN!!!

Have a wonderful week, and remember in all things, HEAR HIM!! ASK HIM!! KNOW HIM!!

WWJD or WDJD??

“Come Reason”

WWJD or WDJD?

This week brings us several things that should be considered. First of all, a statement was made this week on television by a well-known pastor that if everyone in America would attend a church on Sunday, that there would only be enough room to seat three percent of the population of the United States. When did seating people in a building become the focus of the church? Where in the bible did Jesus instruct the disciples to makes sure they were prepared to seat people who came to them, or where God directed them to go to spread the gospel? I do not recall Jesus having a place built to seat the multitude that came to hear Him nor do I recall a fellowship hall being erected that would accommodate the feeding of the multitude either! Quite to the contrary… Jesus taught and ministered and fed the multitudes in the open hill sides and along the sides of the streets in the towns, and in the market places! So why is it that those that profess to follow His teachings and claim that Jesus’ life is our example to follow are doing everything other than what Jesus did!

We see the WWJD on church signs, clothing, and just about anything you can think of, asking what would Jesus do.. but shouldn’t those professing to be Christian be looking to WDJD… what did Jesus do?? Is He the example that God sent, the WAY or not?

Seems that as so many other words in our English vocabulary have taken on different meanings or been changed, likewise the word “christian” has also. It no longer means a person that follows the teachings and ensample of Jesus Christ, but has come to mean “they that believe the teachings and doctrines anyone other than Jesus Christ”. To be a “christian” by most people’s understanding has nothing at all with following the teaching of Christ, or His example!!

I ask you.. have you ever thought about it?? Have you ever asked why it is that if God is the inspiration behind the Bible, and the King James Version of the bible is the most accurate by translation, why is it that the words of Jesus Christ are the only ones in RED!! Why aren’t the words that God spoke directly in RED?? Could it be because the words of CHRIST are the ones that are to STAND out in the lives of those professing to be CHRISTIAN? How is it that with the words and instructions of Christ standing out on the pages of the bibles in RED that still no one follows or goes by the WAY that so many claim that Jesus is?? Have you ever thought about it?? Have you ever taken the time to simply read what’s written in RED in the bible? If the bible is the word of God, and the Red is the actual teachings of CHRIST.. shouldn’t that be the focus of all “Christians”?

Like this… Jesus taught His disciples that they would be persecuted, and even killed when going out to spread the gospel, yet those that claim to be Christians today think it’s a horrific thing that Christians are killed or persecuted … when isn’t that what Jesus said? Then Jesus’ taught that if you’re eye causes you to sin, pluck it out, and if your hand causes you to sin, cut it off… Right? Well with Christians claiming to be sinners today some 2003 years after Jesus did what He did… shouldn’t there be some with plucked out eyes, and missing hands… and much worse? Then we see those that came to the disciples selling all their possessions and giving the money to be distributed so that “none would suffer lack”… yet that sure isn’t what’s going on in the church today, nor among those that are calling themselves Christian.

It is very clear to see that the very meaning of the word “Christian” no longer means a follower of Christ and His ensample! The sad part of it all is that it’s those that claim to be “Christian”, those that are filling the seats in the “Houses of God”, and professing Jesus Christ is the “ONLY WAY”, that are not following what He said, nor the way that He lived at all? Do we now need to don our sackcloth, sandals and walk the streets of Jerusalem? Absolutely not! Even Jesus Himself didn’t instruct that, but He did make it clear what those that came to follow Him were to do! Wonder why we see so many that still aren’t??

Have a wonderful week, and remember in all things, HEAR HIM!! ASK HIM!! KNOW HIM!!
